1. About these terms

Captr. is a gamified virtual running platform and a Run for Maldives product. You run anywhere you like, upload your run file, and your verified kilometres help you capture zones on the map, climb leaderboards and earn medals. Season 1 runs 1 Nov – 31 Dec 2026.

The Rules page sets out how the game works (zones, teams, tie-breaks, medals). The Rules form part of these terms. If the Rules and these terms conflict, these terms apply.

2. Who runs Captr.

Captr. is operated by ZELX PVT LTD (“ZELX”, “we”, “us”), Malé City, Maldives. Phone +960 779 5279, email hello@captr.run.

3. Your account

• You can sign up with an email and password (and, when it is switched on, with Google).
• One account per person. Keep your login details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Profile and ID

Before you can pay an entry, open the maps or upload runs, you must complete your profile with your full legal name and:

• Maldivians: your national ID card number (the letter A followed by 6 digits, e.g. A123456);
• Foreigners: your passport number.

Each ID or passport number can be linked to one account only. We may ask you to show the document to confirm it matches, for example before awarding prizes or medals. Your legal name and ID are kept private (see the Privacy Policy); a display name is shown publicly instead.

5. Entry and fees

• Season entry: MVR 300. Returning runners: MVR 250.
• Optional Captr. T-shirt: +MVR 200.
• Medal shipping is free.
• One entry covers all launch cities for the season. You pick a home city at sign-up but can capture zones anywhere.

Your entry is active once we have confirmed your payment. Only active entrants' runs count towards zones, leaderboards and medals.

6. Payment

For now, payment is made by QR code or bank transfer and checked manually by our team. Please use the payment reference we give you so we can match it to your account. Confirmation can take a little time. An online Maldives bank gateway will be added later; when it is, card details will be handled by the bank or gateway, not stored by us.

7. Refunds

Entry fees are non-refundable once the season has started (1 November 2026). Before the season starts, contact us at hello@captr.run and we will consider refund requests case by case. If we cancel a season entirely, we will refund entry fees for that season. Entries removed for cheating or breaking these terms are not refunded. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Maldivian consumer law.

8. Runs and verification

• Record your run with any GPS app or watch and upload the original GPX or TCX file. It must contain GPS points with timestamps.
• Runs must be your own, done on foot, during the season dates.
• We calculate distance, moving time and pace from the file and credit the kilometres to the zones your route passes through.
• Runs can be flagged for review or rejected, including for impossible pace, GPS jumps or other anomalies, dates outside the season, or duplicate uploads. Flagged runs only count once approved.

9. Fair play and cheating

Cheating includes uploading someone else's run, cycling or driving, editing or faking files, sharing accounts, or using more than one account. If we reasonably believe a run or account breaks the rules, we may remove runs, adjust kilometres, zones and results, withdraw medals, or disqualify the entry. Our review decisions are final for the purposes of the game, but you can ask us to look again by emailing us.

10. Zones, leaderboards and medals

Zone ownership, tie-breaks, team and city results and medal criteria work as described in the Rules. Results are provisional during the season and become final after our end-of-season checks. Zone boundaries and names may be updated during the season. Medals have no cash value.

11. T-shirts and medal delivery

We deliver T-shirts and medals to the address you give us, free of shipping charges. Please make sure it is correct. Delivery times are estimates. If an item arrives damaged or wrong, contact us within 14 days and we will help.

12. Kids

Children can only take part through a profile managed by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for their participation. Kids' profiles use a nickname only.

13. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Captr.: no offensive display or team names, no harassment, no attempts to break, overload or scrape the platform, and no access to accounts or data that aren't yours.

14. Content you upload

You keep ownership of your run files. You give ZELX permission to store and process them to run Captr., and to show results derived from them (for example kilometres, zones held and rankings, under your display name) on the site and in season announcements.

15. Availability and changes

Captr. is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and we may change these terms (see section 19).

16. Liability and health

• Running is physical activity. Only take part if you are fit to do so, run safely, follow local laws and traffic rules, and stay aware of your surroundings. You take part at your own risk.
• To the extent the law allows, ZELX is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your running, or for indirect losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid for the current season.
• Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Maldivian law.

17. Ending or suspending accounts

You can stop using Captr. at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Rules.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of the Maldives. Please contact us first; most issues can be sorted out quickly.

19. Changes to these terms

ZELX may update these terms from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for important changes, tell you on the site or by email. If you keep using Captr. after an update, the new terms apply.
